Interra is seeking a motivated, bilingual Imports and Exports Guru to add to its Operations Team. 


Global Trade Operations Specialists are responsible for developing and maintaining excellent customer service to internal and external customers while processing export and/or import shipments to move products globally. They coordinate and schedule domestic and/or international shipments, and are responsible for making efficient and economic transportation decisions. Specialists work with foreign offices, customers, suppliers and service providers, such as warehouse, ocean, drayage, and trucking providers to ensure that cargo is properly scheduled through all operational steps while upholding governmental compliance requirements.


Global Trade Operations Specialists are responsible for coordinating and resolving all export cargo documentation issues related to the prompt and accurate release of cargo, working with suppliers and customers, government agencies, foreign locations, and global ocean freight providers. They submit and review accuracy of negotiable bills of lading, associated health and other certifications, and creates commercial documents to ensure proper release at shipment destination.


 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience in transportation, international business, supply chain or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in logistics for international trade, ocean, import/export, or trucking.
  • Language Abilities: Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English required. Additional Portuguese fluency preferred.
  • Six Sigma Certification Preferred.
  • Knowledge of Automated Export System (AES) processing,
  • Knowledge of and ability to properly use INCO Terms.
  • Must have excellent business acumen, communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills.
  • Ability to build solutions to create long-lasting results, positive outcomes and value.
  • Ability to handle critical deadline demands in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Keen attention to detail and organization.
